UPPER WEST SIDE (West 59th Street from Columbus Circle to West 110th Street)
This where affluent Yuppies who got puppies went when they were looking to settle down yet not leave Manhattan; so now they are married with children, and, of course, a dog. Regal twin turreted apartment towers on CPW, West End Avenue and Riverside Drive, and rows of sturdy well kept brownstones on the pretty and quiet in-between side streets exist betwixt Central Park and Riverside Park with the added allure of the Hudson River. The large apartments attract families; retirees are seduced to stay or come by the proximity of that cultural behemoth, Lincoln Center. Good value and more often than not good views are a big part of the draw.
